Here in Stroud we are seeing the evidence of our broken benefits system, and particularly the heartless way it treats people with disabilities. Over 70 per cent of people in Stroud who are turned down for disability payment PIP, have that decision over-turned at tribunal and their payments reinstated. But they are waiting 10 months for that decision - at huge emotional and financial cost
David Drew MP has called on Parliament to hold an urgent debate on incineration contracts, after documents have finally revealed that the Javelin Park incinerator will cost £100 million more than planned.
Javelin Park incinerator will cost at least £102 million more than the £500 million predicted, documents have revealed. I will now be calling for a parliamentary debate on Javelin Park incinerator and I remain opposed to incineration as a way of dealing with our waste. It is clear there are much cheaper, greener and safer options.

David Drew MP has backed a call by the Dogs Trust for the government to take urgent action to end the cruel practice of puppy smuggling. Using virtual reality, David also experienced the terrible conditions in which puppies are transported across Central and Eastern Europe to be sold to unsuspecting buyers in the UK.
Gloucestershire is facing an education funding crisis, which means children may miss out on the Government’s ‘minimum’ spending pledge for schools. David has written to the Damian Hinds, Secretary of State for Education calling on him to keep his promise.
