Our rail services continue to be plagued with cancellations. GWR's own data for last week tells us that 10.8% of journeys on the South Cotswold line were cancelled *completely*.
50% of cases affecting Stroud and Stonehouse stations, cited a shortage of train crew, six of them on Sunday. In reality, GWR is barely able to run a Sunday service.

In answer to a Parliamentary question from me, the Secretary of State for Transport provided data on the wider GWR network which shows a huge rise in cancellations over the last year.
The company says training for the new turbo train fleet is to blame for a lag in numbers. However, the unions say financial pressures on GWR has led them to cut vital over time.

On a line where the company only runs hourly trains this has created a devastating customer experience forcing some, unwillingly, to abandon rail for our overcrowded road system.
Up to now, GWR has been fortunate that catastrophes elsewhere have protected them from more criticism. However, the people of Stroud need a reliable service that they can trust.

I will keep fighting and be maintaining pressure on the company to fulfil the full obligations of their franchise.  Please, do keep sharing your stories and experiences. They really do help me carry your case to the company and to the Government on your behalf.
