Video: Labour insists on a national framework for UK Agriculture

Part of my privilege as shadow minister for Agriculture in this parliamentary term is to lead the Opposition's scrutiny of the first Agriculture Bill since 1947.

In the bill committee this week, I challenged the minister on his omission of a UK-wide framework for agriculture, environmental protection and sustainable development.

Post #Brexit, Labour will ensure #Gloucestershire's heritage-rich farmers have fair access to markets across all the nations and regions of the UK. And vice versa.

While the independence of devolved institutions is part of the UK's evolving constitution, a unified framework is vital to creating a level playing field for ALL UK farmers.
