Can we help? David's casework team is coming to you
This autumn, David Drew MP’s caseworkers will be taking to the road to offer mobile surgeries bringing support direct to his constituents.
“My caseworkers have already directly helped more than 1,000 people who live here,” said David.
“But we know there are many people who need assistance, which is why the caseworkers will be going ‘on tour’ this autumn, starting with a date in Dursley.”
David Drew, Labour MP for the Stroud constituency, has a small team of caseworkers who help constituents with a vast range of issues.
“Part of my role as MP for the Stroud constituency is to help residents with all kinds of issues and problems, particularly those which relate to government departments,” said David.
“I am lucky to have very dedicated caseworkers who have the expertise to help with all kinds of problems.
“They’re usually based in my Stroud office, but this autumn and winter they’ll be ‘on the road’ with a programme of mobile surgeries.”
They will be at venues including The Pulse in Dursley, Stonehouse Community Centre, Chalford Parish Council and Hardwicke Village Hall.
People can ‘drop-in’ to discuss concerns and caseworkers can offer advice on-the-spot, or discuss ways to find solutions.
Laurie Davies, senior caseworker said;
“Often casework involves helping people who are vulnerable or at a crisis point in their lives.
“We see some of the real difficulties that increasing numbers of people face and it can be heart-breaking at times.
“We can’t promise to provide easy solutions but there have been many times when we’ve managed to make a difference.”
Caseworkers help people with all kinds of difficulties including relating to the Home Office, Revenue and Customs, and the Department of Work and Pensions.
In the year since David was re-elected to parliament to represent Stroud constituency, his caseworkers have helped more than 1,000 local people.
“The scope of the casework always amazes me. Housing problems and benefits make up a large part, but it can also include dealing with complex immigration cases, environmental problems and mental-health services,” said David
David also holds regular monthly surgeries in the constituency. Appointments can be made through his office.
